Frequently asked questions
What does FlyWei Robotics do?+
FlyWei Robotics is a UK-based warehouse automation systems integrator. We design, deploy and support fleets of autonomous forklifts and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) in warehouses, distribution centres and factories — matching the right robots and software to each site, integrating with your warehouse management system, and supporting the fleet after go-live. We are vendor-neutral: the goal is the best fit for your operation, not one fixed product.
Does FlyWei manufacture its own robots?+
FlyWei is a systems integrator — not a reseller, distributor or manufacturer. We do not build our own hardware; instead we select and integrate best-in-class robots from multiple vendors, engineering complete autonomous fleets coordinated by our own open VDA5050 M4 fleet platform. We specify the best-fit autonomous trucks and laser-SLAM autonomous forklifts for your site, integrate them with your racking, processes and software, and support the fleet after go-live. Because we are vendor-neutral, you get whatever genuinely suits your operation — with no single-brand lock-in.
What is the difference between an autonomous forklift and an AMR?+
An autonomous forklift is a driverless lift truck that moves, lifts and stacks pallets into racking on its own. An autonomous mobile robot (AMR) is the broader category of self-navigating robot used for transporting and moving goods around a facility. FlyWei deploys both, and often a mix, depending on whether a site needs high-bay pallet handling, horizontal transport, or both.
Which countries does FlyWei serve?+
FlyWei is headquartered in the UK and serves customers across the United Kingdom, the Middle East and Europe. The website is published in English, Arabic, Spanish, French, German and Italian so operators across these markets can evaluate autonomous warehouse robotics in their own language.
Can we lease autonomous forklifts instead of buying them?+
Yes. As well as outright purchase, FlyWei offers flexible leasing over three, five or seven-year terms, so warehouses can adopt autonomous forklifts and AMRs as an operating cost rather than a large up-front capital outlay. The right structure depends on fleet size and deployment plan.
Are autonomous forklifts safe to work alongside staff?+
They are designed to share space with people. Safety scanners and sensors detect staff and obstacles, slow or stop the truck and route around them, and UK deployments are carried out in line with PUWER (work equipment) and LOLER (lifting operations) duties. A site-specific risk assessment is part of every deployment.
How do we get started?+
The first step is a free site survey. A UK-based FlyWei engineer visits your facility, maps your flows, checks floor, racking and aisle conditions, and recommends the right robot classes, fleet size and software integration — vendor-neutral and with no obligation. You can book one from the contact page.
