What is a robot controller (AMR controller)?
A robot controller is the onboard computing unit that runs an autonomous mobile robot's SLAM mapping, navigation, motion control and safety. FlyWei's SRC series controllers power AMRs, AGVs and autonomous forklifts, integrated with M4 fleet management.
Which FlyWei controller has functional-safety certification?
The SRC-3000FS is a functional-safety robot controller certified to IEC 61508 SIL 2 and ISO 13849-1 Category 3 PL d, with an SRC-3000FS (Forklift) variant for autonomous forklifts.
What positioning accuracy do the SRC controllers achieve?
Down to ±2 mm with reflector positioning, and ±5 mm / ±1° in standard SLAM navigation, at driving speeds up to 2 m/s.
Do these controllers work with third-party robots?
The SRC series is built for the robot platforms FlyWei deploys and integrates natively with M4. FlyWei is a vendor-neutral integrator: the M4 fleet manager also runs mixed fleets from other makers over VDA 5050. Contact FlyWei to discuss integration with your specific robot platform.
What is the difference between an AMR controller and an AGV controller?
An AGV controller follows fixed guidance such as magnetic tape, wires or reflectors. An AMR controller builds its own map and plans its own route with SLAM. The SRC series supports SLAM, QR code, reflector and laser-SLAM navigation on one board, so the same controller can run a free-navigating AMR or a guided AGV, and switch between modes where a site needs both.

Yes. FlyWei integrates, deploys and supports the full SRC controller range across the UK, including commissioning and engineering support from UK-based engineers, and services fleets in the Middle East from the same team.
